Prior to founding Startling Brands, Mario worked for more than decade in the publishing, design and advertising industries.

Travis pushes design through the creative use of technology. He is an expert in front- and back-end languages, and is a strategic thinker when it comes to our digital applications.

Born in Canada, Travis moved to Germany in 2003. Prior to joining Startling Brands, he worked as an independent developer for a colorful variety of clients and agencies in San Francisco and Berlin.

STEVEN VAN DEN HAAK
RESEARCH & TREND FORECASTING

Steven van den Haak is a trend researcher, writer, lecturer and art historian based in Amsterdam. He studied Art History at the University of Amsterdam and after his graduation he worked for two years at trend forecasting agency SecondSight. He now teaches trend research at the Academy for Creative Industries of Fontys University of Applied Sciences and conducts research exploring the changes in values and needs amongst consumers.
